I got a wild hair last weekend to change up my zebra chair. I really like the chair but was growing a little tired of the zebra print. I had bought a ton of burlap a few months ago to make some pillows, which I have only made one, thus... I have lots of burlap. I threw it in the washing machine and dryer....it really smelled nasty unpleasant and I figured washing it would help. I also aired it outside on the deck for a day. I had H.H. help me take apart the chair and he pulled off the piping around the back and removed the bizillion staples.
Then.... I got busy with the staple gun. I did not take a picture of this process because I had burlap every where... sticking to by sweaty face etc...... not pretty.... about half way thru when my hand started hurting from all the stapling, I asked myself ... why?.....why did I think this was a good idea......but... because I'm not a quitter, I kept at it and finally got all the burlap stapled in place.
then came time for the piping trim..... what? I don't have any trim to cover all those bizillion staples...
but I did have lots of twine.... remember bowls of twine.....this is where things get a little sticky....I got out my trusty glue gun and finished the job. I am really happy with the way it turned out.... and until I get another wild hair.... I will enjoy my burlap chair!
Enjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteI love burlap and that turned out great. I know what you mean about getting tired of an animal print. I would love to recover the ottoman I have in the sitting room.
